Abstract

The Anti Foreign Capital Movement At The Beginning Of The New Order Government (1967-1974). Entering the era of the New Order, the Government issued a policy in the form of the enactment of Law Number 1 concerning Foreign Investment in 1967 to invite foreign investors to Indonesia in the context of the economic recovery after the era of the Old Order. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that led to the existence of foreign anti-capital movements originating from Japan in 1967 and 1974. The research method used in this study is historical research method with four stages, namely Heuristics, Critics, Interpretation, and Historiography. The data analysis technique used is historical analysis technique, an activity that begins with data collection which then conducts source criticism in accordance with the research needs. The results of this study indicate that the factors of the occurrence of foreign anti-capital movements are divided into two, namely key factors and supporting factors. The government's attitude of ignoring criticism of foreign capital by students led to a foreign anti-capital movement that continued to peak until the beginning of 1974. The conclusion of this study is that this movement was initially only a sharp criticism conveyed through mass media such as newspapers, but the criticism developed into a demonstration.
