Abstract
The scanning calorimetry method has been used to investigate processes of glass transition and melting occurring in polyblends prepared by stretching high density PE in an adsorption-active medium (butyl methacrylate) followed by polimerization of the latter. The same processes were investigated in mechanical mixtures of these polymers and in the individual homopolymers. In all the cases examined components of the blends were found to be incompatible. Concentrations of components in the modified blends have been calculated on the basis of a comparative analysis of the heats of melting of PE in the blends, and the heat of melting of the individual polyethylenes oriented in heptane.
