Abstract

An investigation of the photolysis of NF 2 has been carried out by kinetic absorption spectroscopy in the vacuum ultra-violet. A series of diffuse bands in the region of 126–140 nm are attributed to Rydberg transitions of NF 2. A number of transient bands have also been observed and attributed to the species NF in more than one electronic state, and some collisional rate data for these bands are reported.
