Abstract
Relevance. The relevance of the research is determined by the need to improve the situation with the inclusion of visually impaired persons in Kazakhstan by improving the quality and efficiency of education of audio description interpreters. Purpose. This article is aimed at creating and testing a methodology for training interpreters of audio description interpreting, contributing to the training of qualified interpreters of audio description and ensuring accessibility of information for visually impaired persons. Methodology. The leading method of researching this problem was experimentation, which allowed evaluating the effectiveness of the developed method of training interpreters of audio description interpreting. The following methods of cognition were also used: system analysis, logical analysis, comparison, synthesis, deduction, and classification. Results. The article presents the results of theoretical and empirical research on audio description interpreting, exploring the concept, role, and spheres of activity of audio description interpreters. It substantiates the significance of assistive technologies and screen readers, while describing the prospects of applying interpreters' skills in collaboration with assistive technology developers to enhance the experience of visually impaired users. Additionally, the article discusses ways to develop skills in working with assistive technologies, including self-education and participation in the professional community. Conclusions. The study demonstrated the effectiveness of an integrated approach to teaching audio description interpreting, improving both professional skills and information accessibility for the visually impaired in Kazakhstan, while suggesting future collaborations for more inclusive communication resources.
