Abstract
In Brazil’s Text Liguistics studies, the discursive topic, as a category of textual- interactive analysis, has been studied for almost three decades in the various text genres (PINHEIRO, 2005). Regarded as the common thread of the text (JUBRAN, 2006a; 2006b), in argumentative genres – such as the entrance exam essay – it has already been associated with Jean-Michel Adam’s argumentative sequences (ALENCAR e FARIA, 2014) and with Michel Charolles’ coherence metarules (LINS et al., 2017; SA, 2018). However, with the new trends in argumentation analysis of textual studies, we believe that it can also be associated with the studies of argumentation in discourse (AMOSSY, 2018), as well as the rabatelian theory studies in point of view (CORTEZ, 2011; RABATEL, 2013; 2016). Therefore, our goal is to investigate how, in two essays of Enem applicants, the topic is led in a way that it guides the argumentation and formulates the point of view and the meanings of these texts. After the analysis, we noticed that both texts present argumentative orientation and maintenance of the topical progression/continuity.so that their points of view can be formulated and consolidated coherently.
