Abstract
During the Fourth Asian Battery conference panel session, topics under discussion were as follows. Alloy and grid technology: analysis of alloy composition; grain refiners; very-low antimony alloys; cracking of cast grids; strap alloys; cast-on strap process; inter-cell welds. Separator technology. Plate processing: oxide production; paste mixing; plate curing; dry-charging. Battery performance: JIS endurance test; overcharging; hydrogen sulfide generation; thermal runaway; grid corrosion; failure modes.
