Abstract

The total neutron cross sections of several organic materials are measured in the energy region 0.0I5 ev < E < 0.2 ev. The data are to be used in the application of the Neutron cross sections were studied for formic, acetic, propionic, and butyric acids; ethyl, propyl, and butyl alcohols; methyl-ethyl ketone; and human muscle, brain, and bone tissues. A graphical comparison is shown of the total macroscopic cross section of n-butyl alcohol and muscle tissue to that for water. (N.W.R.)
