Abstract
The machining of Titanium alloys is quite challenging; it produces heat during cutting operation which is difficult to release owing to low thermal conductivity of such materials. Difficulties in machining of titanium material arises because of high cutting temperatures attained, chemical reaction between tool- work piece interface, and low modulus of elasticity . Electrical discharge machining (EDM) has emerged as one of the most promising manufacturing processes for producing extremely accurate and complex components of any material which is electrically conductive. The different aspects of tool electrode play a vital role in machining of Titanium and its alloys. This research paper discusses the research trends on different aspects of tool electrodes are being used in machining of Titanium and its variants.
