Abstract

An analytical derivation for the Time of Flight (TOF) induced currents obtained in capacitive devices has been performed. The electric fields and the induced charge on the electrodes have been determined from Poisson's equation. The theoretical current shape is in good agreement with experimental TOF currents to a first approximation. These results contribute to the understanding of the electrical transport inductive processes occurring during TOF experiments in insulator media devices. Although the analysis includes simplifying assumptions, the general method can be used to account for dispersive effects in TOF experimental currents.
