Abstract

The purpose of the study is to determine the elastic properties of the tilted wheel and to identify their relationship with the operating properties of the vehicle. A study was made of influence of the wheel tilting installation on the change in its elastic properties at operation. It has been found that normal tire stiffness is reduced by up to 15 % at a maximum tilt angle of 3.50, limited by tire durability conditions. A scheme of the influence of the stiffness types of the tilting wheel on the vehicle operational properties has been developed.
