Abstract
In many applications the need to speed up three dimensional image synthesis algorithms is clear. Parallelism could be a possible way of computation time reduction that has this type of task. Our approach looks at low cost parallel systems as an alternative to hardware specific implementations (inflexible techniques and frequently unavailable). We have done research about parallelisation in Transputers of the classical techniques of three dimensional polygonal image synthesis. We have researched two principal strategies of parallel image synthesis for our architecture: image division and primitive division. We found out that image division technique, in general, is more efficient.
