THIRD Test: Diagnosing Hip Labral Tears With a New Physical Examination Technique

Abstract

The art of hands-on physical examination has discovered a new way to diagnose patients with hip labral tears. Literature has called for improvements in hip physical examination techniques. This article reports a rigorous study that demonstrates this new physical examination technique and correlates it with current practice and standards of care. THIRD test is highly sensitive and specific for diagnosing hip labral tears. The inclusion of this test will improve diagnosis and establishment of treatment plans in the evaluation of patients with hip pain.
