Abstract

The paper considers the main theses and equations of the modern theory of thermoviscoplasticity (inelasticity). The authors highlight material functions, formulate the basic experiment and method for identifying the material functions which enclose the theory of thermoviscoplasticity. The possibility of the theory are illustrated to adequately describe the processes of deformation and fracture of structural steels and alloys in a variety of modes of thermal power cyclic loading.
