Abstract

The thermal stability of natural fiber composites is a topic of worth consideration. The processing temperature plays a vital role in the manufacture of the composites. Excess heating causes the cellulose, hemicelluloses and lignin fiber components to deteriorate. The mechanical, physical and thermal properties change with increasing temperature. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) is performed to determine the thermal properties of the fiber composites. Various methods have been used to understand the usefulness of this test. In this study, the work done on thermo-set and thermoplastic polymeric matrix and thermal properties of natural and hybrid composites by TGA has been demonstrated. According to the various studies, the type of matrix affects the homogeneity of the mixture, the orientation and manufacturing process, and the thermal properties of the composites. Thermal analysis is helpful in making new materials and in determining the state of application of the manufactured material accordingly. It is important to determine where and in what format the composite is used.
