Abstract

The activity coefficients of KCl in {KCl( m A) + SrCl 2( m B)}(aq) were determined by e.m.f. measurements at 298.15 K, 308.15 K, and 318.15 K at constant total ionic strengths (0.5, 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0) mol·kg −1 using a potassium-ion-selective electrode and an (Ag + AgCl) electrode. The Harned coefficients and Pitzer binary and ternary interaction parameters were evaluated. The osmotic coefficients, excess molar Gibbs free energies, and activity coefficients of SrCl 2 have been predicted at all the temperatures and ionic strengths studied.
