Abstract

The activity coefficients of KCl in the aqueous mixtures of KCl-BaCl 2 were determined by electromotive force measurements at 25, 35, and 45 o C and the total ionic strengths of 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0 m. The Harned coefficients and Pitzer binary and ternary interaction parameters were evaluated. Osmotic coefficients, excess free energies of mixing, and the activity coefficient of BaCl 2 were calculated at all the ionic strengths and temperatures studied
