Abstract

Ag/ZnO composite thin film was successfully deposited on glass substrate using resistive thermal evaporation process. The ZnO had a wurtzite hexagonal structure with crystallinity while Ag show cubic structure. Morphological studies had performed by using FESEM which reveals voids in thin film where the gas molecules get entrap and enhance the sensing property of the deposited thin film. Furthermore, gas sensing application of the Ag/ZnO thin film had examined at 250 °C for 100 ppm by using keithley digital multimeter connected with two probe system. The response time shown by sensor is 108 sec and recovery time is 135 sec. In the early gas sensing detection, thin film show good acetylene gas sensing property.
