Abstract

In this study, the performance of photovoltaic pumped solar domestic hot water (PV-SDHW) systems is examined using an hour-by-hour computer simulation program. The results are compared to those of a thermosyphon and a conventionally pumped solar domestic hot water system. A PV-SDHW system was found to save five percent more energy than a conventional SDHW system and five percent less energy than a thermosyphon SDHW system.
