Abstract
Four mixtures containing Magnesium and Calcium salt hydrates added with NH4NO3 and KNO3 are described as promising TES materials suitable for active and passive solar heating applications, covering the temperature range 15–55°C. A new system for hindering supercooling is presented, which apparently may be applied to all salt mixtures of this type. Tests are in progress to confirm that these mixtures do not show any efficiency reduction after many heating/cooling cycles.
