Abstract
We have calculated the perpendicular magnetic anisotropy energies of multilayered films. The Calculated perpendicular magnetic anisotropy energies of Ni/noble metal (Ag, Au, Cu and Pd) multilayers are larger than the shape anisotropy energy of Ni. For the films with large interfacial roughness, we have found the strain-induced magnetic anisotropy reduced considerably.
