Abstract
The extraction of 45Ca(II) into toluene solutions of (a)HTTA, (b)HDEHP, (c)HTTA + TBP and (d) HDEHP + TBP showed a synergistic effect for (c) but little or none for (d). the thermodynamic parameters, are interpreted to indicate no change in coordination number of Ca(II) as observed for Zn(II) and Ln(III) synergistic extraction. The extracted species correspond to Ca(HD 2) 2(HD) 2, [H(H 2O) m +][Ca(TTA) 3 −] and Ca(TTA) 2(TBP) 2.
