The therapy of the congenital obstruation of naso-lacrimal duct

Abstract

Objective To eraluate the therapeutic efficacy of congenital obstruation of naso-lacrimal duct. Methods Ninty-seven cases ( 117 eyes) of congenital obstruation of naso-lacrimal duct were treated by massaging lacrimal sac,pressor clysis or lacrimal passages probing according to the age. Results Fortytwo cases(52 eyes) whose age from 1 -3 months were treated by massaging lacrimal sac,among them, 31 eyes were healed(59.62％ ). Thirty-four(41 eyes) cases whose age from 4 months to 1 year were treated by pressor clysis,among them, thirty six eyes were healed(87.80％ ). Twenty-four eyes whose age from 1 -2years were treated by lacrimal passages probing,among them,eighteen eyes were healed(75.00％ ). Conclusion The three methods( massaging lacrimal sac, pressor clysis and lacrimal passages probing) according to the age can treat the congenital obsuuation of naso-lacrimal duct efficiently.
