Abstract
Abstract Leaf blight caused by Exserohilum turcicum is a one of important diseases affecting maize. This leads to yield losses of up to 70% and therefore affect the sustainable food security. The study aim was to determine the distribution of Leaf blight disease caused by the fungus E. turcicum at Sei Glugur Village and Gunung Tinggi Village in Pancur Batu District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra Province. This research was exploratory research carried out using a survey method, by calculating the incidence and severity of leaf blight disease on maize plants on four fields in two villages, Sei Glugur Village and Gunung Tinggi Village. The highest disease incidence and disease severity were discovered in Sei Glugur Village, field 2, with an average disease incidence percentage of 83.64% and an average disease severity percentage of 33.15%.
