Abstract

The structure of electrolytic Cu-Pb alloys obtained on a (111) single-crystal copper substrate was studied. The influence of underpotential effects of the more electronegative constituent on the chemical and phase composition of the deposited alloy was determined and also the influence of substrate orientation on the formation of a preferred orientation of the alloy crystallites. From the results obtained for both Cu-Pb and Cu-Cd alloys generalized conclusions are formulated about the structure of two-constituent alloys obtained on single-crystal substrates and about the role of underpotential effects of the more electronegative constituent in the process of alloy deposition.
