Abstract
Abstract The shape of an X multiplet of an ABC…X spin-system in a high-resolution pmr spectrum is dependent on the chemical shift sequence of its ABC… part. When the chem. shift of a proton of the ABC part of the spin-system migrates from one position to another may give rise to chem. shift equivalence, inducing drastical changes on the X multiplet. The case of Proline(Pro) and Hydroxy-Proline(OH-Pro), where similar phenomena have already been studied, is here throughly analysed.
