Abstract

The main goal of this study is to research optimization process parameters for friction stir welding (FSW). The optimal parameter combinations have better tensile strength with combining decision model. Additive Ratio Assessment (ARAS) method is used to determine the optimum process parameters and suitable it is also for welding operation of Aluminum alloy A319. The friction stir welding parameters is considered for tool rotational speed (rpm), welding feed (mm/min) and tool pin diameter (mm). Taguchi L9 orthogonal array design experiments are mainly used to implement this operation. The Multi-criteria decision model for applying ARAS- method is proposed to solve this problem. The methodology has proved that the offered technology is suitable for finding the multi-criteria optimization for the process parameters in FSW.
