Abstract

To optimze the product quality as well as project cost, a discrete time/cost/product quality trade-off model used for product development projects was presented on the theoretical basis of resource constrained project scheduling problem (RCPSP). According to the characteristics of product development project, the project cost is calculated by the price of resources, and the quality function deployment method (QFD) is used to quantitatively calculate product quality. A brand and cut algorithm was presented to solve the model. Finally the model and its algorithm were verified by a project case.
