Abstract

Purpose. The purpose of this article is to analyze the factors and conditions for integration of the Russian society, study the specificities of the national idea as a phenomenon of patriotism as a national idea of modern Russia. Methodology. The work applies sociocultural approach as a research methodology, as well as comparative, historical and dialectical methods. Results. It is shown that the national idea is a synthesis of past, present and future of the nation, the systematization of the relations of synchronic and diachronic levels. As the main obstacles to the formation of patriotism, the authors emphasize the lack of a clear and stable views about the “we-community”, whose boundaries are blurred, leading to the preservation on the part of citizens of the Soviet identity, and others – to identify with the region or ethnic group. Practical implications. The article may be of interest to professionals who study the problems of socio-cultural integration of modern Russia historical and contemporary context, the issues of construction of Russian national identity and national idea.
