Abstract

This research paper had the intention of identifying how HRM plays a major role in ensuring employee retention in an organization. While doing that, this research has initially analyzed the concept of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs and has presented several different activities performed by the HRM department. After that, in the data analysis section, it was found that every activity performed by HRM department fulfills one or more factors or stages from Maslow’s hierarchy of needs such as esteem needs, love-belongingness needs, self-actualization needs, safety-security needs and physiological needs. By fulfilling these needs, HRM department triggers employee motivation and job satisfaction that in turn ensures employee retention.
