Abstract
AbstractSustainable village development based on local wisdom allows communities to participate in tourism as attractions related to community life, such as agriculture, farming, traditional food and beverage production, art, children’s games, etc. This research aims to understand the role of the community and government in developing sustainable tourist villages based on local wisdom. The method used is qualitative descriptive analysis. The respondents consisted of the village officials and the community as tourism enterprises. Data collection is done with observations, interviews, and literature studies. The results demonstrate Ciburial community’s potential as a sustainable tourism community based on local wisdom. The community still holds the local wisdom of social skills, known as the term “Sauyunan” which means agitation, harmony, and help in solving problems or carrying out activities related to village development. The implication of local wisdom implementation grows and thrives in various areas of the life of the Ciburial community such as economic, social, political, environmental, and development. Sustainable tourist village development based on local wisdom is a form of effort to synergize communities and governments in the management and development of sustainable tourism resources. The study recommends preserving local wisdom and its cultural conservation implications.
