Abstract

(Abstracted from JAMA 2017;317(2):129–130) This article highlights the risks associated with the use of marijuana during pregnancy. In the context of marijuana’s legalization in 29 states and Washington, DC, and the antinausea effects of tetrahydrocannabinol, the main psychoactive ingredient in it, there is an increased risk of pregnant women turning to marijuana to control nausea in the first trimester.
