Abstract

To meet the requirement of high speed and rigidity on the motion beam of a gantry NC machine tool, the 3D beam structure model is built and static and dynamic rigidity parameters of connected faces are identified combining experiment with Finite Element Analysis in beam structure design. The topology optimization is used for optimized beam design target to static and dynamic rigidity. In the other hand, target to lightweight, the effect on beam static and dynamic characteristics by changing rib and wall thickness is analyzed for beam optimization design.
