Abstract
Abstract As the population increases, greater energy consumption is required. Energy consumption of oil and gas supplies is a current problem. Cilacap Regency, which in 2021-2023 will experience an increase in population of 1.2% each year, can create new issues regarding energy consumption. The unmapped renewable energy potential in Cilacap Regency is a problem in providing locations for renewable energy. This research aims to map the potential for renewable energy in Cilacap, by finding areas with the potential for renewable energy development. This research uses quantitative data obtained from institutions and measurements in the field. Renewable energies are mapped in this biogas, wind, and solar energy. The data analysis technique uses Geographic Information System (GIS) analysis to identify renewable energy potential in Cilacap Regency. Based on the research results, the sub-districts that have the potential to develop wind energy are all sub-districts in Cilacap except for Dayeuhluhur, Majenang, and Wanareja sub-districts. Potential for solar energy in Binangun, Kroya, Nusawungu, Maos, Adipala, and Sampang Districts. The largest biogas energy potential is in Majenang, followed by Karangpucung, Jeruklegi, and Adipala. Adipala Regency has three potentials to develop renewable energy in this area.
