Abstract

This study was designed to investigate the relationships between team atmosphere, team cohesion, and team outcomes of college team players. The sampling conducted of college players from six universities in the Seoul and Kyoungido area. A total of 300 questionnaires were distributed and those questionnaires that were insincerely or ambiguously answered were excluded; finally 286 questionnaires were analyzed for this study. For the analysis of the data, frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis, and structural equating modeling were conducted using SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 18.0. The main findings were as follows: first, team atmosphere had a positive effect on team outcomes; second, team atmosphere had a positive effect on team cohesion; and finally, team cohesion had a positive effect on team outcomes. In conclusion, a positive team atmosphere was developed by a positive relationship between the college players and their colleagues and leaders; and in order to reach the team’s goals, the individual efforts had a positive effect on the results of team performance.
