Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to prove the effect of sports psychology skills on resilience according to the MBTI personality type of high school team sports athletes.BR Method: For this study, MBTI Personality type and sports psychological skills, and resilience were measured for 290 high school student athletes Team Sports registered whit the Korea Sports Association. A total of 290 questionnaires were distributed except for 15 parts which were judged to be incompatible with the objectives of this study due to unsuccessful responses. The SPSS 26.0 statistical program was used to conduct frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, reliability verification, correlation analysis & simple regression analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The significance level of hypothesis verification was set up as α=.05.BR Results: The results of this study are as follows. 1) The level of sports psychological skills according to personality type by MBTI preference indicator had a positive effect on resilience in all eight indicators (I, E, S, N, T, F, J, P) (p.001). 2) Significance verification results according to the Energy Direction (I-E), Introverts’ concentration (p.05), willpower (p.01) and extroverts’ self-confidence (p.01), goal setting (p.001), team cohesion (p.05), imagery (p.05) had a positive effect on resilience. 3) Significance verification results according to the perceiving function (S-N), Sensing’s (S) concentration (p.01), goal setting (p.01) and Intuition (N)’s goal setting (p.05), team cohesion (p.01), anxiety control (p.01) had a positive effect on resilience. 4) Significance verification results according to the Judging function (T-F), Thinking (T)’s concentration (p.05), goal setting (p.01) and Feeling (F)’s confidence (p.05), concentration (p.05), team cohesion (p.01) had a positive effect on resilience. 5) Finally, significance verification results according to the Life Style (J-P), Judging (J)’s goal setting (p.01), team cohesion (p.05) and Perceiving (P)’s self-confidence (p.01), concentration (p.05), goal setting (p.01), team cohesion (p.01) had a positive effect on resilience.BR Conclusion: Therefore, It will be provided as basic data for developing individualized sports psychology support programs by deriving sub-factors of sports psychological skills that affect resilience according to the MBTI preference indicator of a team sports athlete.
