Abstract

Objective To investigate the correlation between the level of uric acid level and the extent of coronary lesions in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD). Methods One hundred and ninety-two patients in our hospital from 2009 to 2010 were divided into four groups: single-branch(52 patients),double-branch(43 patients),three-branch (55 patients) and normal control group (42 patients). Uric acid were measured in all the patients. Results ①There were significant differences in uric acid, LDL-C, HDL-C and CPR among the four groups(P<0.05).②The uric acid level in the four groups were (330±81)μmmol/L,(341±80)μmmol/L,(372±83)μmmol/L,(288±78)μmmol/L, which increased with the number of stenosed vessels increased. Uric acid level was significantly correlated with the severity of coronary artery lesion (r=0.38,P<0.05).Conclusions Uric acid level in patients with CHD is closely related to the severity of coronary lesion. Key words: Coronary artery disease; Uric acid; Coronary angiography
