Abstract

Objective To investigate the serum uric acid level, coronary atherosclerotic heart disease(CHD)and the relationship between the severity of coronary artery stenosis. Methods A retrospective study was performed on 1 000 cases of CHD patients with heart palpitations, fatigue, occasional discomfort, nearly coronary angiography examination found no coronary atherosclerotic stenosis who were admitted from January 2006 to June 2007.Patients were followed for 5 years, 147 cases were followed by coronary angiography in patients with CHD diagnosed as CHD group, who were followed up for 5 years without confirmed CHD were in the non-CHD group, and 40 cases were lost.In the CHD group, 87 males and 60 females who aged(49.2±3.6)years old, ranged from 45 to 59 years.In the non-CHD group, 502 males and 311 females who aged(49.0±3.9)years old, ranged from 45 to 59 years old.Blood lipid and uric acid levels of patients in the two groups were detected and compared, and the differences in uric acid levels of CHD patients with different degrees of stenosis and number of lesions were compared according to the degree of coronary artery stenosis and number of lesions. Results The levels of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol in the CHD group were lower than those in the non-CHD group(P<0.05), and the waist to hip ratio, serum uric acid, total cholesterol, triglyceride, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and cystatin C in the CHD group were all higher than those in the non-CHD group(P<0.05). In the CHD group, 57 patients had single-vessel disease, 51 patients had double-vessel disease, and 39 patients had multi-vessel disease.Blood uric acid level [(311.9±42.0)mol/L] in patients with single-vessel disease < double-vessel disease[(355.3±51.2)mol/L]<multi-vessel disease[(397.6±56.3)mol/L], and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05). In the CHD group, there were 49 cases of mild stenosis, 58 cases of moderate stenosis and 40 cases of severe stenosis.Patients with mild stenosis had blood uric acid levels[(318.3±43.0)mol/L]<moderate stenosis[(361.4±47.6)mol/L]<severe stenosis[(409.5±53.2)mol/L](P<0.05). Conclusion The level of uric acid in CHD patients was significantly increased, which was associated with the degree of coronary artery stenosis and the number of lesions.With the aggravation of CHD, it was an important biochemical indicator to determine CHD.In the prevention and treatment of CHD, diet rich in purine should be restricted, and patients should be encouraged to change their living habits and eating habits, to promote the excretion of uric acid, reduce the level of uric acid in blood, and to prevent the occurrence of cardiovascular diseases.
