Abstract
1. Density gradient centrifugation was found to be a superior method of preparing isolated Physalia nematocysts. 2.These organelles were most efficiently ruptured by 28,000 psi extrusion pressure. 3. Gel filtration chromatography on Sephadex G-200 resulted in the separation of 18 mouse lethal fractions from Physalia nematocyst fluid.
