Abstract
1. 1. The helix-coil transition of poly U has been studied by various optical and hydrodynamic methods. It is concluded that the helix form of poly U is essentially that of a single strand folded back on itself — a hairpin. 2. 2. Poly U forms temperature labile complexes with various halogenated poly uridylic acids.
