Abstract
The strangeness exchange reaction (K−, π−) was studied on targets of12C,16O and27Al. The experiment was performed at 390 MeV/c incident-K− momentum and with the π− emitted in the forward direction (0 ÷ 20)°lab. Formation of various hypernuclear states is observed, corresponding mainly to excited levels. Angular distributions in the forward direction are presented. The results are discussed in the framework of the current theoretical models proposed to describe strangeness exchange reactions and hypernuclear excited states.
