Abstract
The article drawsthe attention ofresearchers, methodologists and music teachers to one of the most pressing problems of general music education in the current situation. Until now, Russian folk music as a means of forming emotional well-being, improving the health of students has not become the subject of research in evidence-based science. In practice, its art-therapeutic potential, if realized, is spontaneous, since the corresponding pedagogical technology has not been developed. In the article, this problem is considered at the level of its formulation. In the review of the theoretical foundations for the development of the problem put forward, works on Russian folk music and art therapy, including folklore and music, are considered. Using the example of the author’s educational and methodological kits „The Musical World” for preschool and primary general music education, the methodological prerequisites for creating a pedagogical technology for realizing the art-therapeutic potential of Russian folk music are revealed. The development of such a technology may be preceded by the conceptualization of the considered theoretical and methodological foundations in several directions proposed in the article.
