Abstract

The researcher Andreea Elena Matic (Mirica) proposes, through paper Time in Philosophy and Science , a return to debates on implications of time category in approaches of history, philosophy of science, particularly in history of cosmology, astronomy and astrophysics, starting with cosmological myths, beginnings of scientific cosmology in Antiquity (Pythagoras, Aristotle, Ptolemy), passing Modern Age with its titans (Galileo, Copernicus, Kepler, Newton), underlining exceptional openings of limited and generalized relativity theory discovered by Einstein's genius. The historical perspective overlaps naturally with structural one, being also explored subtle consequences of quantum mechanics in research of Universe, especially through discussions concerning early Universe models, singularity states (Big Bang, Big Crunch, black holes), as well as later scenarios of its possible end, namely the beginning and the end of Universe, as they can be glimpsed at level of our knowledge of today.
