Abstract

The fractions of delayed neutrons feeding different excited states in the residual nucleus have been determined for the precursors 81Ga, 88,89Br, 93–96Rb, 135Sb and 138,139I by means of γ-ray spectroscopy and delayed neutron counting. The results are compared to theoretical values based on simple statistical model calculations. It is shown that there is a hindrance of the neutron transition from states populated in β-decay to the 0 + ground state of several even-even residual nuclei.
