Abstract

Purpose: Based on the comparative-contrastive analysis of ad-jectives from the anthropological lexicology of the Tobol Tatars, we tried to reveal the specifics of adjective semantics in Russian, Tatar and Tabol-Irtish dialect. The factual material of the study was the above mentioned lexical-semantic group of adjectives obtained from the Russian archives containing the population audit dating back to the 17-19 centuries and the first Russian data records of 1897. The records are from the Tobol branch of the State archive of Tyumen region. Methods of the study. The given study presents synchronic-contrastive description of the language material, based on analysis and generalization of the basic accomplishments of modern linguistics. The basic methods of the study are the descriptive and contrastive ones. Additional methods used in our paper were analysis of lexical-graphical materials, semantic analysis, quantitative data processing and etymological analysis. Results. The word formation of adjectives in Tabol-Irtish dialect basically corresponds with word formation of the Tatar literary language. Morphologically wise, adjectives in the Tatar language and Tоbol-Irtish dialect are not grammatically marked, meaning that they don’t have formal indexes differentiating them from other parts of speech. Our data is abundant with this kind of adjectives. Comparative degrees of adjectives in Russian and Tatar have a lot of similarities and some differences. Practical use. The given material and the results can be used in lexical-graphical practice of compiling synonym and defining dictionaries, writing educational brochures in contrastive lexicology and semasiology, theoretical courses in lingua acciology, linguistic cultural studies, teaching Tatar and Russian languages and students’ scientific research studies.
