Abstract
Measurements of the efficiency with which protein was used were made on 54 rats fed different blends of soya/maize and proteinic meal (P.M.) extracted from nontanned hide wastes. The protein efficiency ratio varied with the quantity of soya/maize substituted by the P.M. By using an experimental method to ensure that the food was consumed, the P.M. was shown to have a real nutritive value.
