Abstract

In this paper we will analyze the story “How did Ndoni meet Zalloret”, a story by Mitrush Kuteli, a remarkable Albanian author which is considered to be among the founders of twentieth century modern prose in Albanian literature. This story, which was first published as complete in 2010 in a literary work “Kuteli, his prose and selected verse 3”, prepared by A. Pasko and D. Pasko, has a structure of interest, especially distinguished by an interesting chronology. The story starts with a description of the main character, Ndoni, an interesting portrayal, not only the external appearance, that of physical, but also his spiritual state. The breakdown of the compositional structure starts at the beginning of the song by Ndoni, the main protagonist of the mentioned story. The song begins in the most disturbing situation, when he is filled with tears, by very harsh description of insurgent warriors that were made to him. In such a state, one forgets everything; time, place and plight, as well as plunges him into the world of art through sounds. And this happens in the eyes of the insurgent warriors, who were living in mountains with riffles upon their arms. The situation is portrayed to be full of tension and savagery. This is the climax of the story, that through songs, the insurgent warriors can be better transformed-becomes melancholic and sensitive, due to the effect of the song by Ndoni, which enables an interesting catharsis, there in the middle of the wild mountains.
