Abstract

In the current article, the peculiarities of the functioning of the physical education system in higher education institutions are defined in the current conditions, which is a topical issue in view of the intensive reformation of the country's educational sector. It has been established that the development of the physical education system of higher education institutions is currently regulated by normative legal acts of Ukraine and orders of the Ministry of Education and Culture. However, their interpretation by the administrations of educational institutions is rather loose, but has a clear direction in the direction of reducing the number of mandatory hours of physical education lessons per week. Currently, there are no clear recommendations regarding the implementation of work on physical education in higher education institutions, which leads to the formation of different models of education. Therefore, along with tradit ional and professionally oriented distribution models, sectional and individual ones are found. However, their separate existence in modern conditions of instability of the educational environment, in which the distance component prevails, is organizationally complicated. In modern conditions, the success of physical education in higher education depends on a combination of different approaches that are effective in solving specific tasks in the process of developing the health-saving competence of students of higher education. There is a need to establish clear requirements for the organization of quality training in physical education, taking into account the prediction of the success of the chosen model in the future. The identified features of the modern system of physical education in higher education deepen the understanding of problematic issues faced by participants in the educational process. A necessary condition for improving the process of physical education of students of higher education is the formation of flexible learning models that will increase the motivation and success of those who study in the process of physical improvement.
