Abstract
The history of creation of the only technological higher Educational Establishment of the republic - National Polytechnic University of Armenia is presented. Polytechnic, with its unique mission, is the outcome of the bidding and demand originating from the vital problems of economy of Armenia. The path it passed precisely coincides with the history of development of the branches of industry in Armenia. During the 9 decades of its activity, Polytechnic has had a leading role in the cause of providing the enterprises, scientific centers and factories producing high technologies of the republic with specialists. Today as well, Polytechnic has a potential, will and devotion to accomplish the tasks envisaged by its mission.
