Abstract

The article discusses the communicative perspective of a composite sentence in the context of interpretation viewed as linguistic cognitive activity of an individual. The author points out that being one of the interpretative language functions, the function of determining the sta-tus of knowledge shapes the above-mentioned perspec-tive. The author argues that the communicative compo-site sentence perspective is profiled due to the process-es of metainterpretation wherein a composite sentence is construed as a linguistic knowledge format. One of the principles of communicative composite sentence per-spective is semantics conceptual representation that predetermines the conceptual nature of given / new knowledge.
