Abstract

The effect of localized plasmon resonance (LPR) of Ag nanoparticles on the photovoltaic and spectral-luminescent properties of a functionalized polymethine dye (PD) was studied. It was shown that in the presence of silver nanoparticles there is an increase in the efficiency of the solar cell sensitized by the dye by 20% was registered. Measurements of the spectral-luminescent characteristics showed that fluorescence intensity upon addition of Ag NPs was increased almost twofold. The increase in the efficiency of solar cell is a result of increasing of absorption properties of PD in the presence of Ag nanoparticles.
